meetings & presentations
The most memorable business meetings and panel discussions don’t just happen by accident. They require critical thought.
Work with a skilled moderator – It’s critical to have a good spokesperson to manage the meeting, interact with the panelists and the audience, and keep the interest level high.
Select a topic that’s timely and appeals to a large number of people – something that’s new and having an effect on the business environment such as AI, drone technology, or the continuing evolution of EVs.
Promote the event early and often –The more people that know about meetings in advance, the better off you are. Get the word out through multiple channels including email, social media, e-newsletters, and websites.
Build in a high level of interactivity – Less scripting and more audience engagement generally leads to a more memorable event.
Encourage people to ask questions – Care should be taken to allot sufficient time for that to happen.
Secure the right venue –Book a meeting room, conference room, or auditorium that’s appropriate for the event and the expected size of the audience.
Make sure to have enough microphones and speakers on hand – This is a “must have.” Everyone in the room must be able to clearly hear what you’re saying and see the slides or video that you’re using. Think about having a secondary roving microphone that can be used when members of the audience are asking questions.
Record the meeting and make it available on demand for those who were unable to attend the live event – If the event is worth having, it’s worth recording. You may get just as many people watching the video recording of the meeting as those who attended the live meeting.
Use video clips to power a social media campaign. PIck out those special moments when panelists really connected with the audience. Design a social media post about each one and you might be able to keep the discussion about your event going for weeks and possibly longer.
